In the early 20th century, the young nation of Canada faced a series of grueling challenges that
tested the mettle of the new nation; specifically, the Great Depression, the First World war only to be
followed by the second World War.

Canadians on the Western front
The generation that withstood the brunt of these events has been rightly dubbed “the greatest generation”; indeed, the generation that withstood the two world wars suffered over 100,00 casualties and then had to return to a traumatized country and rebuild the country from the hardship of the Great Depression!
Which they did!
