It is indisputable that the fossil-fuel industry has provided the world with incredible advancements and improvements in quality of life; however, that same industry is also a source of pollution along with other industries, e.g., tourism, agriculture[i] etc. The Table below attempts to illustrate the pros and cons of each and leads to the conclusion/recommendation. The table below illustrates the dependency that each option has for the other r i.e.the battery option cannot go it alone nor can the world maintain the status quo if the future well-being of the health of the world remains a priority, which it must! Therefore, the world’s energy needs should be satisfied using the existing hybrid model, to borrow a term from the automotive industry. After all, all of us win with satisfied energy needs and a healthy planet now and into the future; certainly this is something we can give to all living organisms and future generations . Certainly, a vibrant, healthy, and beautiful planet now and into the future is worth it!
